Boarding is a 24-hour stay, and extra time is charged as daycare. Timing your pickup can help avoid surprise charges. Holiday nights are billed at a separate holiday rate; see our pricing page for current rates.
Step 4: Book Early
Holiday travel season is busy, so reserve as soon as you know your travel dates. Once your dog has passed their Meet & Greet, you can request reservations right in the Jax Dog Drop app. You can also review your upcoming schedule and see photos of your pup having fun with friends.
Step 5: Pack Like a Pro
Your dog will sleep on a cot in a spacious suite with their own things from home. We recommend packing:
- Their regular food, portioned or with clear feeding instructions. A sudden change in diet can upset a dog’s stomach. There’s no extra charge to feed your dog’s own food. If you forget it, a high-quality house dry food is available for a per-cup charge.
- Any medications, with dosing instructions. We give medications exactly as you tell us, at no extra charge.
- Treats your dog already knows and loves
- A favorite toy and a blanket or something that smells like home
- Bellevue and Redmond: 9 AM–1 PM, 10 AM–2 PM or 1 PM–5 PM
- Issaquah: 9 AM–1 PM or 10 AM–2 PM
- Current Bordetella, Rabies and DHPP vaccines
- A negative fecal exam for giardia and parasites from the last 6 months (repeated every 6 months)
- Regular flea and tick prevention
- Spay or neuter by 7 months of age
- Puppies: their first two rounds of shots
- Good overall health

Everything you bring is kept separate from other dogs. Label your items with your dog’s name, and leave out anything too precious to risk losing.
What Your Dog’s Stay Looks Like
During the day, boarding dogs join daycare at no extra charge. They play in groups matched to size and play style, rest when they need to, and get plenty of attention from our handlers. At night they settle into their suite. Our staff are certified in Pet First Aid and CPR. If your dog gets sick or hurt, we call you right away, and if needed we’ll take your dog to your vet.
For Quieter or Senior Dogs
If your dog is older, anxious or doesn’t love big groups, our Issaquah location offers Companion Camp. It’s a calmer, personalized program with gentle activity and quiet rest in a private suite. Companion Camp boarding is available Monday through Thursday nights only, and spots are limited, so call early: (425) 427-5958.
Ready to Plan Your Dog’s Holiday Stay?
Start with a Meet & Greet, get your records uploaded, and learn more about overnight boarding at our Bellevue, Redmond and Issaquah locations. We’ll take great care of your pup while you enjoy the holidays.
Tip: If your dog is new to Jax, schedule the Meet & Greet weeks before your trip, not days. That leaves time to finish any paperwork, and to schedule a second trial if your dog needs a little more time to open up.
Step 2: Get Vaccines and Records Up to Date
Before the Meet & Greet, your dog needs:
Upload records through our vaccination form or email them to riverdog@jaxdogdrop.com. We track due dates and send reminders, but check your dog’s records yourself before booking. A vaccine or fecal test that expires mid-trip can hold up a stay. Canine influenza vaccine isn’t required, but it’s recommended for dogs who spend a lot of time around other dogs.
Step 3: Know the Holiday Schedule
On Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, we care for boarded dogs only. There’s no drop-off or pickup on those days. Plan your drop-off for the day before and your pickup for the day after.
Holiday hours can vary by location, so check with your location for drop-off and pickup times.

The holidays are busy for everyone, and that includes your dog’s favorite boarding spot. If you’re traveling for Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year’s, a little planning makes your dog’s stay (and your trip) much smoother. Here’s how to get ready for holiday boarding at Jax Dog Drop in Bellevue, Redmond or Issaquah.
Step 1: Start With a Meet & Greet
Every boarding dog at Jax spends the day in daycare, so dogs need to pass a daycare Meet & Greet before they can board. It’s a 2–4 hour trial where our handlers see how your dog settles into the pack. You don’t need to stay.
Meet & Greets are by appointment only, Monday through Friday. There are no trials on weekends. You can register online for the location you want or call us at (425) 427-5958. Weekday time slots are:
